the fortunate followers .

For those who actually take time to read, Time To Myself, welcome to volume one, issue two. The lovely two thousand-eight was a year of revelations.

In America, there has been a new wave of trends and cycles. In the government, in the economy, in life- and when we want to venture past what the world has put us through in all of these departments, we turn to the parts of us that believe in "retail-therapy" dress in our best and go shopping! Two thousand-nine will bring us phases our fashionable sides that we have never saw before. Whether you shop at Neiman Marcus, Forever 21, or your local Soho boutique, there is sure to be something for you to become a center-piece in your fashionable atmosphere. What many fail to realize is that the revelations of style don't come from the price tag. They evolve truly through the coordination of proper mixes and matches- more match than mix.

In reviewing the Marc Jacobs SP09 Collection, there is this, sudden mix and trend of plaids, solids and sequins- and Duanecia appreciates it ! Ladies have become ladies again with knee length fifties styled skirts and ankle length dresses, high waists and hats to die for! There is a new love for belts, and an acquired taste for those oh so daring animal prints. As a personal appreciator for solids and simplicity our dear Marc, has provided us with the opportunity to explore our way through such fashionable relaxation. Until you reach the price tag!

Bloomingdales has this ever so, delicious, Posh Turnlock Big Slice Wristlet designed with love I'm sure by Marc, is tagged at a staggering 248 coins- coins of course that my tuition nor this current recession agrees with. Talk about hunger and poverty for days! But of course our friends at Forever 21 give us the more convenient ticket into pleasure with Savoy Croc Clutch available in three hot and luscious colors Rust (featured below), Fuchsia, and Red- and for how much a beautiful $16.80.

As fashion addicts we fall short on our obsessions by not exploring our options, especially us in college. Because there are too many times that we tempt to spend a whole semester borrowing a textbook so we can use the great ole dollars on a pair of shoes or handbag to travel from our residence hall to class. For 2009, lets resolute to making smarter decisions with our money-fashionable-but smarter choices.

But then there are also solutions for greater circumstances. In entrepreneurial likings of New York designers make life very very convenient. A convenience that I will feature more frequently on this blog. As a writer, model, show producer, and flat out addict- I have the opportunity to be introduced to the likings of some of the best talent that fashion has to offer. My favorite being Diva La Fashion herself Rain King of Kissed By Rain. In attending her casting call, I had the opportunity to model for Rain, and her clothes at an understatement, FAB!

In this 80's inspired hot pink dress, Rain placed me on top of the universe for the 35 seconds I spent gracing the runway at the Harlem Ink. Winter Solstice Fashion Show. Not only a runway stare down but could have easily slipped back the eye patch (part of the theme) and strutted to the club giving any single lady a run for her single George Washington! Solutions as such give you the style inhabitant, a creative, individual sense of style, and surely with designs like Rain's you won't have to worry about the girl next to you having a variation of your style that night!

With strong advice in this economy, consider the fashionable commitments you make, not only to your mirror but also to your pocket.

All this, with time to myself .
