Harlem reaches new Heights

So after watching the disasters of this years Rip The Runway - I sat down to actually catch the tales of BET's new series Harlem Heights. Now as a Harlemite myself I was especially excited to see how they depicted our society and way of life. From the gate the style and make up were on point for all characters. Each character has a style and swag definitely seen throughout the fifty-five blocks of my beloved home land.
I also appreciated the fact that they began to season with a dedication to President Barack Obama. My main critique comes in the fact that the show is indeed overly scripted. They chose to make one "swaggerific" character in particular study the linkings of Max B and use "wavy" for every given statement that he couldn't find a replacement word for.

My favorite character so far in the series is Brook. She is very much the Harlem female with a style very eccentric. Her demeanor is very much one with pure homage paid to Harlem and she is physically captivating.

What I appreciated most about "Harlem Heights" is the way they chose to actually acknowledge Harlem vendors including, designers Montgomery, and Dancy Power Automotive, a luxury car company. I am excited about the rest of the Harlem Heights season. Tune in Mondays at 10PM, feel free to chime in on the update next week. :)

All this with time to myself.
